About THAC
THAC was founded in Bern in 2015 as the Trauma Healing and Creative Arts Coalition, an initiative with partners from the DR Congo, Burundi, Somalia and Switzerland working on trauma recovery, violence prevention and peacebuilding.
That work led to a broader insight: trauma, fear and sustained pressure shape not only individuals, but also relationships, organisations and institutions.
THAC evolved into THAC The Human Aspect , carrying forward its original focus on people, relationships and resilience into the wider fields of leadership, governance, mediation and organisational change.
Today, THAC The Human Aspect provides advisory, training and mediation for leaders and organisations working in complex, fragile and high-pressure environments.
THAC works with experienced practitioners in East Africa, the Horn of Africa and Europe, combining local knowledge with international expertise according to the needs of each assignment.
Our approach
THAC’s work is informed by relational and systems perspectives, including the evolving Relational Systems Framework (RSF).
We look at how relationships, trust, pressure and institutional conditions shape the capacity of people and organisations to function — and where these dynamics can be strengthened.
Our roots
THAC emerged from collaboration with practitioners and organisations in Burundi, Somalia, the DR Congo and Switzerland, including THARS, SOYDEN, Paix pour l’Enfance and IFOR Switzerland.
